Principal

Eric Olsen began his career in District 230 in 2005 as Associate Principal of Instruction at Stagg High School.  During the 2006-2007 school year, he was named Principal of Amos Alonzo Stagg High School and has served in this capacity since.  Before coming to District 230, Mr. Olsen served as an assistant principal, dean of students, and language arts teacher.  During his career, he has had the opportunity to teach students from kindergarten to high school in a number of capacities. Mr. Olsen believes, “The goals of the Stagg Learning Community should focus on the self-actualization of each student who walks the halls of our building. Our ability to support our students' exploration of their talents and skills in our school community will allow students to discover their individual passions and develop personal goals to achieve success both in high school and after they graduate.”  In 2014, Mr. Olsen received the Illinois Principals Association South Cook Award of Excellence, 2016 Friendship Award recipient of the Mosque Foundation, 2017 Golden Apple Leadership Award Nominee and 2019 Arab American Family Services Spirit of Empowerment Award Recipient.   Eric Olsen earned his bachelor's degree in Education from University of Wisconsin at Whitewater and a Master's in School Administration from Governors State University.

Associate Principal of Instruction

Dr. Michelle Augustyniak returned to Stagg for the 2021-2022 school year as Associate Principal for Instruction after spending one year as the Director of Guidance at Sandburg High School. She also served the Charger school community as Division Chair for PE, Health and Drivers Education from 2014 until 2020.  Michelle was instrumental in Stagg’s implementation of the IMPACT Team Framework within professional learning community teams throughout the building. She is passionate about working with teams to ensure they have the support and resources to maximize student’s classroom experiences during their time at Stagg. Michelle also played a critical role in bringing the Teen Mental Health First Aid Training Program to Stagg. The building was selected by the National Council for Behavioral Health and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation as one of the first eight schools in the nation to participate in the Teen Mental Health First Aid Program. Prior to joining District 230, Michelle worked in Indian Prairie School District, serving as a teacher, coach and Department Chair in her 10 years there. Michelle earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis. She received a doctorate in educational leadership at the University of St. Francis. Her research was focused on the work of instructional leaders and how their personal characteristics impact the collective efficacy of the teams they work with. This focus aligns directly with what drives her as a leader, having the opportunity to work with teams and help them reach their collective capacity.

Associate Principal of Student Services

Dr. Ian MacLeod joined District 230 and Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in 2005 as the Special Services Director. He began as Assistant Principal in 2009 and now serves as the Associate Principal for Student Services. Prior to beginning at Stagg, Dr. MacLeod served as the district Director of Student Services and School Psychologist. He earned a B.A. in Psychology and a Specialist in School Psychology degree from Eastern Illinois University. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Loyola University Chicago certificate where he also earned his educational administration certification. His research at Loyola focused on secondary school responses to bullying and has presented this and related topics at the local, state and national levels. Dr. MacLeod believes that Stagg High School offers students an amazing opportunity to reach their fullest potential in a setting that celebrates diversity. He is also proud to serve with staff who work to support the academic and social-emotional development of all learners.

Assistant Principal

Andy DeCraene began his career in District 230 in 2006 as a dean of students at Sandburg High School then advanced to head dean in 2011. In 2022, he transferred to Stagg High School as head dean. He currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Activities. DeCraene is a graduate of Benedictine University and North Central College.

Dean

Chris Campos joined the Dean’s office at Stagg High School in 2016. He first began his career in District 230 as a Spanish teacher in 2007. Before that, he taught Spanish at Warren Township High School in Gurnee, IL. from 2002-2007. During his tenure at Stagg High School, Chris has contributed his time to academic success as a teacher, serving as a basketball coach and head girls soccer coach, and now as an administrator in the Dean’s office. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Education from Illinois State University and also obtained his Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Northeastern Illinois University.  Chris is passionate about working with students in all facets of their high school experiences, stressing the importance of creating positive relationships in the classroom and in the community.

Athletic Director

Jennifer Doede returned to District 230 in 2021 after serving as the Athletic Director at Joliet Central High School for two years. In this role, she was recognized as the New Athletic Director of the Year (2020-2021) by the Illinois Athletic Directors Association. 

Prior to her position at Joliet Central, Jennifer was a Department Chair, Physical Education Teacher, and Head and Assistant Coach at Victor J. Andrew High School since 2003. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education from North Central College and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from St. Xavier University. Through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrator Organization and the National Federation of High Schools, Jennifer holds certifications as a Certified Athletic Administrator and a Certified Interscholastic Coach. She is also a proud graduate of District 230.

Division Chair for Physical Education, Health and Driver Education

Christina Douglas joined the Stagg High School Administrative Team after serving as a Physical Education teacher at Romeoville High School for 17 years. During that time, she also filled the roles of Head Varsity Softball coach and Assistant Athletic Director. Christina holds several certifications, including CPR Instructor and R.A.D.(Self Defense) Certification. She was heavily involved in her previous District’s curriculum writing team courses, including Adapted Physical Education, Junior/Senior Elective 2 and Freshman Physical Education. Christina is passionate about decreasing the amount of health-related challenges students face and also providing experiences for students that support their social/emotional well-being. She believes that educators have a responsibility to guide students and give them the confidence, knowledge, and skills to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Christina completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from DePaul University in 2005, where she was also a member of the Blue Demon Softball Team. After graduating from DePaul, she earned her Driver Education Certification from Chicago State University and also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.

Division Chair for Math and Business

Mr. Ebel attended Northern Illinois University for his two Bachelors Degrees in Statistics and Math Education. He then continued his education to get his Masters Degree at Illinois State University in Administration in Education. Mr. Ebel is currently certified to teach all mathematics and be an administrator. Mr. Ebel joined the staff of District 230 in 2006 as the Division of Mathematics and Business at Stagg High School. Mr. Ebel believes that the goal of the Stagg Math and Business Department  should focus on skills in each subject that are transferable to everyday use, preparing students to become successful citizens.

IEP Coordinator

Luke Lasak joined Stagg High School's Administrative Team in 2022. Mr. Lasak has been at Stagg High School since he began his education journey in 2012. During his time at Stagg, Mr. Lasak served as a Special Services Teacher and Special Services Lead Teacher. He also coordinated Stagg's Alternative Education Program. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Special Education at Eastern Illinois University and obtained Master's Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction at Concordia University and Educational Leadership at Governors State University. Mr. Lasak was the recipient of the Errett and Mazie Warner Special Education Award for outstanding character and scholastic achievement. Mr. Lasak believes in equal opportunities for all students and implementing resources to ensure students are enrolled in the least restrictive setting. 

Division Chair for Science, Applied Technology & Family & Consumer Science

Matt Long joined Stagg High School as Division Chair for  Science, Technology & Engineering Education, and Family & Consumer Science for the 2021-22 school year.

Prior to coming to District 230, Mr. Long spent time in Plainfield School District 202 and Indian Prairie School District 204 as a science teacher at Plainfield South High School and Neuqua Valley High School, respectively. He became the Science Department Chair at Metea Valley High School in 2012. Mr. Long is passionate about the sciences and believes science literacy is vital to becoming an informed and contributing member of society.

Mr. Long also has a passion for athletics and has coached wrestling for 21 years and badminton for 8 years. He believes in students being involved in all aspects of the school community in order to maximize their educational experience.

Mr. Long earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from DePaul University. He has also completed graduate hours in science through Miami University of Ohio, as well as English as a Second Language course at the University of St. Francis.

Director of Guidance

Dr. Kathryn Meader joined the Stagg High School administrative team as the Director of Guidance in 2015. Prior to her work in District 230, she served in multiple roles during her tenure at Lincoln-Way Community High School District. At Lincoln-Way East, Dr. Meader served as a special services teacher, dean, head softball coach and Coordinator of Student Activities, proudly establishing the Best Buddies organization for students. She then returned to special education as the Coordinator of Special Services at Lincoln-Way North. 

Dr. Meader received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education with a focus on Special Education and Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Governors State University.  Returning to her alma mater, Dr. Meader earned her Doctorate of Education in Administration and Supervision from Loyola University Chicago in 2015.  Dr. Meader is committed to providing equitable access to all students in an effort to maximize academic achievement, foster social/emotional growth and attainment of post-secondary aspirations.

Dean

Jerry joined D230 in 2004 as an Associate Principal at Carl Sandburg High School. After two years, he realized his passion was working directly with students and became the Dean of Students at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School. In addition, he also worked with the Alternative Education - Night School Program, as well as the Summer School and Extended School Year Programs. Prior to joining D230, Jerry worked for five years at Waubonsie Valley High School as a Dean of Students. Other positions include being a Crisis Interventionist and Intense Resource Teacher. Jerry is a recipient of the "Teachers Across America" Scholarship and holds Masters of Arts Degrees and Special Education and Educational Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University, and a Bachelors of Science Degree with honors in Criminal Justice Sciences from Illinois State University.

Division Chair for English and Music

Having served as an English teacher for 18 years, Anthony Roditis serves as division chair for English and Music. Roditis started his teaching career at Joliet Township High School as an English teacher. After one year, he joined Carl Sandburg and taught English for seven years, before transferring to Stagg, where he has taught English since 2014. Having taught a wide variety of courses within the English department, he helped design and apply new curriculum. Outside of the classroom, Roditis sponsored Speech, Yearbook, and AudioVisual Club. He also served as a Technology Innovation facilitator, directly supporting teachers with their application of instructional technology for seven years. He holds a master's degree of Education in Curriculum Studies from DePaul University, a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Secondary Education from Governors State University and another bachelor’s degree in communications from DePaul University. 

Director for Special Services

Gail has served on the Administrative Team at Stagg High School since 2018, when she was hired as the Director of Special Services.  Prior to coming to Stagg High School, Gail served as the Special Education Department Chair at Glenbard East High School.  Gail’s other administrative experience was in Cook County School District 130 from 2011-2017, first as a Pupil Personnel Services Coordinator, then as the Administrator for Pupil Personnel Services.  Prior to administration, Gail was a special education teacher at the secondary level from 2005-2011 in Chicago Public Schools and Community High School District 218.  Gail earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Benedictine University and both Master’s Degrees, one in Curriculum and Instruction and the other in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. Gail believes in a student-centered learning community that focuses on inclusion and the opportunity for all individuals to express their interests and unique abilities.  

Dean

Shannan first joined District 230 in 2003 as a Special Education Teacher. She worked in the Special Services Department for 12 years and was also a member of the Athletic Department as the Boys' and Girls' Head Volleyball Coach. Shannan then transitioned to the Intervention Room where she taught for 2 years, before taking the role of Dean of Students.  Shannan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois State University, a Masters in Special Education from Saint Xavier University and a graduate degree in Educational Leadership from DePaul University.

Division Chair for Social Studies, Foreign Language and Art

Zack earned a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching History from Augustana College, and earned two Master’s degrees from Concordia University, including in School Leadership and Literacy Education. Prior to coming to Stagg, Zack was a Social Studies Teacher at Grant Community High School. In 2014, Zack became a member of Stagg High School as a Social Studies Teacher and Literacy Specialist. In 2018, he became the Division Chair for Art, Social Studies, and World Languages. As a Division Chair, Zack believes that all students should have equitable access to appropriately rigorous courses that challenge students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and active citizens within their communities.
