Dr. Abir Othman

Principal

Dr. Abir Othman has been an educator for 23 years, serving the last 18 in District 230. Prior to being named Principal at Andrew High School for the 2021-22 school year, she served as Associate Principal of Student Services at Andrew High School, Head Dean of Students at Stagg High School, and Dean of Students at Andrew High School. Prior to joining District 230 in 2003, she was an English teacher, academic advisor, and administrator at Universal School in Bridgeview.

Othman was the recipient of the Illinois Principals Association Assistant Principal of the Year award, a recognition she earned as a compassionate, solution-focused, and inspiring leader at Andrew High School.
Othman earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with Superintendent Endorsement from the University of St. Francis. She earned a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Lewis University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Teaching Certificate from Governors State University.

Brian Nolan

Associate Principal

Brian joined the Andrew High School team as Director of the Guidance Department in 2009, and served in that role for 9 years before becoming Associate Principal. Prior to Andrew, he served as Student Activities Director at Niles North High School in Skokie, and then Lyons Township High School in LaGrange. He coached soccer at his first school, St. Rita, and has coordinated numerous clubs and activities. Brian received his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University and his Master's Degree from Concordia University.

Dr. Kelli Lattyak

Associate Principal for Instruction

Dr. Kelli Lattyak joined Andrew High School as the Math and Business Division Chair in July 2020.  Prior to her current position, Kelli served Bremen High School District 228 for twelve years in a variety of roles including Math Department Chair, Math Teacher, athletic coach (softball, bowling), Education Foundation president and yearbook sponsor.  Kelli earned her Bachelor’s Degrees in Math Education and Secondary Education from Loyola University Chicago.  She later pursued her Master’s Degrees in Educational Leadership from Lewis University and Educational Technology from American College of Education.  She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis.

Tim Dalton

Assistant Principal

Tim joined the Andrew High School administrative team in the 2002-2003 school year as the Associate Principal. At the start of the 2004-2005 school year, he became the Division Chair for Business and Mathematics. Tim held that role until the 2020-21 school year, when he became the Assistant Principal. Prior to his time at Andrew, Tim was the Dean of Students at Lemont High School. At Lemont, he was also involved with co-curriculars by coaching or sponsoring the community service club, cross country, and football. Tim taught mathematics at Evergreen Park High School, where he was also the girls' bowling coach. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and Governors' State University. Tim believes it is the responsibility of a modern high school to provide opportunities for all students so they are adequately prepared to pursue their post-secondary goals.

Kristin Baker

Division Chair for English, English Learners, Music and Media

Kristi first joined District 230 in 1998 as a teacher in the English Department and in 2023 was appointed Division Chair for English, English Learners, Music and Media. For seven years, Kristi taught various courses in that department and also sponsored Andrew's school newspaper, The Circuit. From that position, Kristi transitioned to the role of Dean of Students. Kristi received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Xavier University and her graduate degree in Educational Leadership from DePaul University.

Douglas Bozych

Division Chair for Physical Education, Health and Drivers Education 

Prior to this administrative role, Douglas was the Division Chair of Physical Education, Health, and Driver Education at our sister school Amos Alonzo Stagg from 2020-22.  Douglas began his career here at Andrew as a teacher for over a decade in this very division teaching PE, Health, Driver Ed, & Adapted PE. During that time as a teacher, he was heavily involved in the building with roles as the Head Coach of Andrew’s Boys Track and Field program and their Student Activities Coordinator. Douglas has spent over a decade as part of the Illinois High School and College Driver Education Association (IHSCDEA) Board of Directors, where he spent time working on statewide curriculum, program development, and program enhancing legislation, presenting often at their regional and state conferences. He has also spent six years as a representative for the D230 Teachers Union and was a member of their contract negotiations team.   As a Division chair, he works to develop curriculum that will allow students to discover individual passions as well as develop personal health and wellness goals focused on short and long term improvement.

Douglas holds a bachelor's degree in Health and Kinesiology Education from Illinois State University, a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University Chicago, and a Masters degree from Northwestern University in Sports Administration. Douglas is currently an adjunct professor at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois as part of the Driver Education Endorsement program."

Jaclyn DeBold

Division Chair for Math and Business

Returning to her high school alma mater, Jaclyn DeBold is the Math/Business Division Chair. Previously, she has served as a Math Interventionist at Andrew and has nearly 20 years of classroom experience as a Math teacher at Homewood-Flossmoor High, The Chicago High School for the Arts, George Westinghouse College Prep, and Joliet Township High School.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from University Of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, a master’s degree in Teaching and Leadership from Saint Xavier university, and ESL Certification from Brandman University and a second master’s degree in Principal Leadership from Governors State University.

Jame Holt

Division Chair for Science, Applied Technology and FACS

Jame first started in District 230 at Carl Sandburg High School as a Science teacher in 2001. After spending eleven years at Riverside Brookfield High School, he returned to the district at Victor J. Andrew High School as the Division Chair for Applied Tech, Family and Consumer Science, and Science departments. Jame earned his Bachelor's Degree in Science Education from St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN, and his Master's degree in Educational Administration from Governor's State University.

Dr. Doug Kaufman

Division Chair for Social Studies, Foreign Language and Art

Doug started his service in District 230 in 1996 as a Dean of Students at Andrew High School. In 2004, he moved to his current role as the Division Chair for Social Studies, World Languages, and Art, as well as the building liaison for the Media Center. Prior to coming to Andrew High School, Doug served as a social studies teacher at Romeoville High School and Pinckneyville High School, where he also coached football, basketball, and track. Academically, Doug holds two Associate Degrees from Joliet Junior College, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois, a Master's Degree from Governors State University and a Doctorate from Illinois State University.

Kevin McKeown

Athletic Director

Prior to serving as Andrew's Athletic Director in 2018, Kevin spent fifteen years at Oak Lawn Community High School (2003-2018) as a social science teacher, Dean of Students, and Athletic Director.  Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University in Secondary Education with a focus on Social Sciences, and master's degrees from Concordia University (Curriculum & Instruction) and Olivet Nazarene University (Educational Leadership).  In Kevin's six years as Athletic Director he has earned a national certification for Athletic Administration through the NIAAA, as well as national coach certification in more than 18 sports through the NFHS, including Heads Up Football Certification.

Kevin Callaghan

Dean

Kevin has been a member of Andrew High School since 2007 when he was hired as a Dean of Students. Before returning to his Alma Mater, Kevin taught Sociology and Geography at Eisenhower High School. During his time as a teacher, Kevin also coached baseball, football, and wrestling. Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in Secondary Education with a focus on Social Sciences. Kevin earned his Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Lewis University as well as his LBS1 endorsement.

Phillip Miller

Dean

P.J. has worked at Andrew High School since 2005 in various capacities. Early in his career, P.J. taught several different subjects and levels in the Social Studies department. While teaching, P.J. also coached football and track. In 2009, P.J. joined the Deans' Office where he currently works. P.J. graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in History, a minor in Secondary Education, and a concentration in Social Studies. He also received his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University

Mike Murphy

Head Dean

Mike joined District 230 in 2001 as a Social Worker at Sandburg High School. In 2003, he came to Andrew as a Dean of Students, becoming Head Dean in 2008. Before working for District 230, Mike served as a Social Worker at a suburban alternative high school and as a private therapist at Interventions Residential Facility. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Social Work from Illinois State University and a Master of Clinical Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago. Mike earned his Educational Administrative certificate from Governors State University.

Meredith Sheriff

As Dean at Andrew High School Meredith Sheriff is familiar with District 230 as she served as Director of Guidance at Carl Sandburg High school for six years from 2014-2020. She has also served as an Assistant Principal for Student Services at York Community High School. With more than two decades of experience in education, including classroom teacher, counselor and counseling department chair, Sheriff earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University and a master’s degree in School Counseling & Guidance from Lewis University. 

"I have always enjoyed being on a team to problem solve and support students as they navigate through their high school years.  I really look forward to meeting the staff, connecting with students, and immersing myself in the culture and traditions of Andrew!," Sheriff said.

Cheryl Russell

Division Chair for Special Services

Cheryl has been in education for over twenty years and throughout this time has been a Social Studies Lead Teacher, Dean, and Assistant Principal for Activities and Special Education. Cheryl is currently the Director of Special Services and has been at Andrew High School since 2009. Cheryl has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Special Education. Cheryl is an active volunteer for Special Olympics and a huge fan of The Hangout Club and the Special Olympics teams here at Andrew.

Michele Vieu

Guidance Director

Michele Vieu joined Andrew High School as a Director of Guidance in July, 2020. Prior to joining District 230, she served as a school counselor at Lyons Township High School, Glenbard West High School, and school counselor and Department Chair at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School. In addition to counseling, Michele has coached swim and sponsored various student leadership clubs and activities. Michele received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Eastern Illinois University. She then continued her education, earning a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling from Governors State University, and Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Lewis University.
